Teleouet Kasbah...

On the way to our gîte we stopped off to view Teleouet Kasbah, a fortified house which was the stronghold of the Glaoui clan until the family fell out of political favour in the late 1950s. It was something of a folly, built hurriedly to impress, and has deteriorated badly in the fifty years or so of its non-occupation. The sumptuous decoration of some of the interior rooms has survived better than the exterior structure.
